Longer Kollsman knob

You could put a piece of plastic tube or hose over the knob and make it as long as you want.

I can build a longer one from a block of brass or aluminum. I have the tools and skill set but I was hoping for a quick internet order ...

They may be available, but you will never find the parts on line. Your best bet is to call an instrument shop and ask them. You should have the model number of your altimeter. Depending on the model, you may be able to replace it without disassembling the altimeter.

That's the best option, especially if I can also pay for an 8130 and make it 100% legal.

Yeah, because I can't imagine how many crashes and denied insurance claims have been avoided by having proper paperwork on a longer than standard Kollsman knob:D

Hi guys,

My G5 is right next to the altimeter so it makes twisting the Kollsman knob hard sometimes.  Do they sell longer knobs?  Thanks.

Yet another great reason to flush mount the Garmin G5(s). :)
