Hi all! We just got out to our plane to find a gorgeous and substantial crack in our spinner. No, don’t worry - we’re not attempting to fly it.

3 questions:

1) Any chance of repair?

2) Does anyone have a serviceable one lying around?

3) Possible to get a new one?

Thanks!

What's going on with the root of that prop blade?

Idk. think it’s been there awhile. Just took it for its 100hr and the prop shop didn’t say anything about it. Just some faded paint and tiny oil streaks

Found a new one for $800 or so :)

You're lucky.  A new one for the 3 blade McCauley is between $1500-$1800.  Don't know for sure yet.

Those are paint scratches from carelessly removing the spinner.

When I remove my spinner, the base collapses in by 1/2" or a little more. Each blade opening rubs the blade roots, since the prop is in flattest position at shutdown. And having a 3-blade, I can't tilt it to come off one at a time without rubbing.

I put duct tape on the prop before removing the spinner.
