gabez Posted October 30, 2023 Report Posted October 30, 2023 Well after 5 months of f.ing around with the plane specifically related to water contamination we found out that: 1. the aux tank sump valve wasn't the right one, meaning the pick up hole was too high 2. it wasn't at the lowest point of the tank I had a small leak in the fuel cap and water was collecting but there was no way to sump it we had to modify the thanks and add an additional sump valve As anybody experienced anything like it? I believe this are stock tanks as I don't see an entry in the log book this is on M231K Quote

Look in your airframe logs for an installation of "Jose Monroy Long Range Fuel STC". 2. In your aircraft records there should have been a form 337 filed with the FAA when this installation was done. 3. In the back of your POH there should be some pages describing this modification, how to read the quantities in the tanks, how to sump the tanks, etc. 4. There should be a placard near your fuel gauges showing how many gallons that "Full" actually is. Quote

Go to the FAA web site, and download all the documentation they have on your airplane, including all the 337s that were filed. You may find something there that you don't have a hardcopy for. Quote

gabez Posted October 31, 2023 Author Report Posted October 31, 2023 so found it the 337, the job was done and documented but obviously the drain valve wasn't put in the right spot Quote

Who did the original install on the 337 and when did they do it? 1 Quote
gabez Posted October 31, 2023 Author Report Posted October 31, 2023 so looks like Donal D, Plantation Florida in July 1987 Quote

I brought an airplane over in 1997 for Jose to do Long Range tanks on. One of his A & Ps, Clinton Lancaster, signed off on the 337. Quote
