Hi all. Does anyone have any experience taking advantage of this AC (applies to pre 1980 aircraft only) when they had a hard time finding replacement parts on their aircraft? Looking to take advantage of it on my 1979 M20K for some landing gear springs. Thanks in advance for the replies!

All the time.    A good search topic is "Owner Produced Parts".

I know a guy who got his Chinese Cheapo springs at the local Ace Hardware store.  This is one of those things that might be okay right up to the moment when it's not.  Why risk your airplane?
