DEGWS
Hey, today, first flight this year I had a bird strike on my 1977 M20J What the experts here think about repair options? Any recommendation for good shops in Germany or Europe? I already talked to my insurance. Edited January 19, 2023 by DEGWS
Pinecone
Dust tape and a wax job should take care of that. Sorry that happened. Seemed to be a BIG bird.
EricJ
It is repairable but needs to go to a good airframe/sheetmetal shop to replace the skin and anything that got bent underneath.
flyboy0681
How did she handle after the strike?
Ibra
What a start of the year, sorry to hear about it and good luck with repairs I almost hit one as well on landing, something to do with windy days and limited aircraft mouvements? birds just stay under ground effect and claw their legs on the runway... JG Aviation in LFEV can help if they are not far away? I have never used them but they can do metal repairs if damage is limited to the skin Edited January 19, 2023 by Ibra

One member here used Aeroskill in the Netherlands for spar work on his J model. @Hyett6420
terbang
You could ask ACG in EDFQ. They know Mooneys and one of the guys there is really good with sheet matel.

That had to hit pretty accurately right on the leading edge. A few millimeters higher or lower would have dissipated the energy better. Pinecone
I would not expect a lot of handling change, until you got really slow. That could have been exciting.
N201MKTurbo
What's the process to get a ferry permit in Europe? Do you really need one? I guess I should know that....

The problem is, the plane is in Europe.
