Floor Gear Down Indicator Light

Lots of post regarding the gear down indicator light but I can't seem to find the correct info.   I need to replace the bulb in my Bravo's floor gear indicator.  The parts manual calls out a GE 330.  Easy enough to find.  However, GE specs a 330 at 14V.  My AC is a 28-volt bird.  Any advice will be greatly appreciated.  I'd like to install an LED equivalent.

I have not had to do it yet, but I have read that the voltage difference just makes the bulb less bright -- which some appreciate at night.  Not sure about the LED.

The revised 2006 Illustrated Parts Catalog (page 426) for the Bravo calls out a GE 327 Bulb (28V)

There are LED equalivents I have these waiting to install, bought two as there was a min purchase amount.

Theses are 14V bulbs though, I’m pretty sure 14V Mooney’s get 28V bulbs for dimming, I wonder if your 28V airplane has a dropping resistor, or just has a much brighter light?

I think you may want this one once you confirm there is no dropping resistor

Although as it’s a dimmable bulb perhaps it’s what even us 14V guys want if the 14V bulb is too bright?

I think if I were doing it again I’d get one 14 and one 28 and see what works best.

A 330 bulb in your plane will be very bright for a split second!  A 327 bulb or LED equivalent is correct.

So the 14V airplanes use a 28V bulb as a 14V bulb is too bright,

But the 28V airplanes use a 28V bulb, but it’s not too bright?

What am I missing? You sure the 28V airplanes don’t step the voltage down to 14V and use the same bulb as the 14V airplanes, or why is it not too bright?

Or, perhaps, the 28V bulb just isn't designed to be as bright on 28V as a 14V is on 14V?

I guess anything is possible, but these bulbs are used for many things like enunciation panels, and they are identical except for voltage so I’d be surprised if light level is different, but who knows.

No, seems the 28V draws exactly half the current of the 14V so light output ought to be identical as wattage is the same 1.1 W for each

Further food for thought...note the 14V bulb shows 6 lumens, while the 28V bulb indicates only 4 lumens:
