New owner of M20c

Recommended Posts

I am a new owner of a 1965 M20c.  I have a question.  My plane has the electrical gear kit installed at the factory.  The lever to engage the emergency gear extension has gotten pushed all the way forward.  The crank has not been turned.  I can't move the lever back into it's resting position.  The plane is on the ground.  Does anyone know the procedure.  Thanks.

I.think you have to push a button or slide a lever to enable the crank. Haven't done it in a while, last time I had to crank them down partway after an electrical failure just after breakout on a VOR-A approach in WV.

There should be a placard with instructions on the sidewall by the crank.

DON'T BE PLAYING WITH THE ALTERNATE EXTENSION SYSTEM WHILE THE WHEELS ARE ON THE GROUAD- PERIOD!

If you need to play with it get it on jacks so its safe in case something goes wrong

Play it safe Get it on jacks just in case.

Then you can actually raise the gear and play with the alternate system. safely
