Good Mooney maintenance shop near St Louis

I’ve got plenty of time. Won’t need it until next year. I have only been in the area for two years and just haven’t had a lot of success with the local shops. One went out of business and the other is a flight school with no Mooney knowledge. Shops that know Mooneys are rare around here and I thought it would be best to ask the community to see if there is anyone out there who went through the same frustration and figured it out. Thanks.

I have been using Paul Craft at KEZZ and Steve Wilber’s at KJEF.  Also used a Mooney shop just over from St. Louis in Illinois  believe it was one that had Ovation HP improvement. They fixed my rudder and think mostly if not all Mooneys. Not sure still in business. Don Maxwell in Longview has done my annuals several times too.

Thanks everyone. Lots of good info here. I’m going to look up these shops, find out exactly where they are, see what the trip would be to drop off the plane. I don’t mind going out of state for good maintenance. but I would rather not have to buy an airline ticket, though that is not off the table. I really appreciate the response and will probably have a few questions later - especially about the shops in IL.

Every now and then…

You might find people sharing rides…. For maintenance pick-up / drop off…

Best regards,
