EricJ
Ran across this and was salivating over it. If I had space for it somewhere I'd probably buy it. My recollection is that Al Mooney either designed or contributed heavily to the design of these. https://www.platinumfighters.com/inventory/1944-culver-pq-14/
MikeOH
Pretty cool. But, something a bit unsettling about flying a TARGET drone!! He's got a good sense of humor about it, though: nose art on the other side: "Just shoot me now..."

The PQ-14 is a larger/faster evolution of the PQ-8 which was based off of the Culver Cadet, Al Mooney designs. I do have archive materials on Culver PQ8 and PQ-14 aircraft but would have to do some research to see how involved Al Mooney was in the redesign work for these aircraft, pure speculation but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a much larger team of engineers available to Culver around the time of the PQ-14 due to the war effort. Mooneymite
Hard to believe Al had much input since it has oleo strut landing gear! Real Mooney designs use biscuits. I wonder how come TBMs don't have 'em those...and backward tails? Edited July 21, 2022 by Mooneymite
