Hi guys- Trying to help a friend with a 28v M20J.

 He says he needs a VR-802 voltage regulator, can’t find.

PMA replacement?  Didn’t see anything on Zeftronics.

His can be repaired. Call Don Maxwell

+1 for Mr. Maxwell… because there are a few specialized VRs that need his kind of help…

Also call Zeftronics because they make really good VRs… and the M20J’s isn’t that special… is it? 

My M20C got a new Zeftronics VR to keep its OH’d generator alive….

I went through this two years ago, also with a 28V M20J (MSE).  I spent a fair amount of time tracking down all possible leads and the final determination was: the original Mooney-branded part is no longer made and I could not find any in stock or from salvage.  The choice was simple: either buy a 1+ AMU retrofit kit to replace the original V/R with a more readily available part already used in other models, or, send to Maxwell for IRAN for quite a bit less.  I chose the latter, no problems since.
