If you missed it at Oshkosh, Whelen Aerospace Technologies (WAT) announced and released their new Parmetheus G3 PAR-36 (4.5" diameter) landing and taxi lights. At Oshkosh everyone sold out of their stock of G3s because they were so popular. I got to play with these a little bit prior to the release and they are incredible lights for the money. Incomparable I'd say. They are 2.5 times brighter then the PAR-36 Parmetheus Plus series LED landing and taxi lights boasting close to 140,000 candela power for the landing light. They are even brighter than the WAT Parmetheus Pro. If you're looking for landing and taxi light upgrade, this is it. The G3 is compatible with both 14V and 28V electrical systems. I have them in stock and ready to go and they are $289 a lamp.

Some photos below compare the G3 taxi to the Parmetheus Plus LED taxi light. Additionally, WAT took a drone over a runway and compared the G3 to the $650 AeroLED Sunspot landing light.

I have an excellent inventory of the new G3 LED taxi and landing lights. They are only in the PAR-36 size (4.5" diameter), which fits most Beech aircraft. If you have previous generation Whelen Parmetheus or older LED lamps, you will notice an incredible difference between the G3 and them.

The G3 is not available in the PAR-46 size. I have the Parmetheus Plus and the Parmetheus Pro in the PAR-46 size. All in stock and ready to ship.

I thought I heard that is was as a taxi light, I guess I got the wrong info.  I have a Parmetheus Plus in there now, I guess I'll wait a little while longer to see if there are other options.  Thanks for the info.

You are welcome. The G3 comes as a taxi or a landing light in the PAR-36 size. They will probably release a PAR-46 size but I have no knowledge of when that will be.

Orders over $500 ship free and there is no sales tax (within the United States). I can ship internationally but additional shipping and export/import duties may be required. I just received more G3 LED taxi and landing lights. This is the newest technology and for the price, it is incomparable.

If you have older LED landing and taxi lights, the G3 is a worthy upgrade. I have received nothing but positive feedback in the improvement in the amount of light that they put out.

@201MooniacWill do. It is 2.5 times brighter than the Parmetheus Plus and is a bit better than the Parmetheus Pro, although if you have the Pro I'd keep that. These will sell for $399.99. I'm checking to see when I'll have them in stock. Hopefully late this week or early next week.

I have an excellent inventory of the PAR-36 G3 LED landing and taxi lights. I also have TWO PAR-46 G3 LED landing lights available if anyone is interested. You cannot buy the G3 PAR-46 lamps off my website yet so you need to contact me to get them.

I have a couple of these G3 LED landing and taxi lights shipping out today - they are very popular. I carry an excellent inventory of them so if you order today, I ship them today. Many Mooney's have a PAR-36 lamp in their aircraft. This is characterized by Mooneys with two lamps in each wing - side by side, or two lamps - side by side in the nose of the aircraft. You can also measure them and if they are 4.5 inches in diameter, they are PAR-36

I just received more PAR-36 G3 LED landing and taxi lights, along with its PAR-46 LED landing light cousin. The G3 is the best lamp on the market, especially for the money. It outperforms more expensive lights from other vendors such as AeroLED. All backed by a 5 year warranty and they are made right here in the US!

I purchased an landing and taxi light with the Oshkosh special.

I finally got some night time in, and they are NICE.

Taxi version has a nice wide pattern.  And a LOT of light.

I did not actually try the landing light without the taxi light, but it did brighten up the center area.

mid-February now is what I got today and an email will be coming out soon. They are going to do a 14V and a 28V version (-10 and -20 on the P/N). So when I email, be ready to specify what you have. Some 28V electrical systems have a power box that drops the voltage to 14V, so we need to figure that out too. I am trying to figure out ways for owners to determine that easily.

I have an excellent inventory of the G3 LED landing and taxi light in the PAR-36 and PAR-46 sizes. The PAR-46 version only comes in a landing light. If you order today, they usually ship same day.

I have an excellent inventory of the PAR-36 (4.5" diameter) G3 LED landing and taxi lights and the PAR-46 (5.75" diameter) G3 LED landing light. Depending on the vintage of your Mooney, some take PAR-36 and some take PAR-46. A good rule of thumb is if your Mooney has a single lamp in the nose of the plane, it is PAR-46. If your Mooney has lights in the wings or in the nose side by side, they are PAR-36.
