As 2021 comes to a close I reflect on the previous 12mo of logbook entries. In the 2021 calendar year I tallied up 169.4 hrs in my Ovation 2. I would have flown a lot more but my Mooney was in the shop getting a new panel for 4 months. Memorable trips included a trip from PBG in upstate NY to HYI in TX and back and a trip from PBG to F45 in S FL and back. Only 1 fuel stop to and from TX. Ovation is a traveling machine! This was my first year of ownership.  100% dispatch reliability. Good stuff! My 2 favorite pics from 2021…

110.   I was down for a few months with shoulder issues and wound up in physical therapy for it, so I missed out on quite a bit there.

~85 hours, but I have twin 5 year old copilots, so that’s my excuse.  They have ~300 hours in their “logbook” before their 6th birthday. Also, they like aerobatics.

50 hours.  But my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer last December, so other priorities.

Sorry to hear that.

140 hours for me, between planes for three months and née plane went straight to annual for two months, and a viscous sinus infection kept me down a few weeks as well.
my new ride has fiki, so looking forward to a busy flying year in 2022!

103 hours for me this year, but I only purchased my Mooney in April, I was down 1 month for avionics and I've had my plane in annual since the end of October.  Hoping to get it back next week.  So really I only had it 5 months.  Next year I should rack up a lot more hours.

110 for me. With 2.5 months down for annual, avionics upgrades, and maintenance not too bad - first full year after getting my special issuance and the Mooney...

Sometimes it just feels like work. Plus there's nowhere to go more than 1.5hr away. Sometimes I just don't feel like messing with security and the class b airport BS

OK go ahead and rub it in.    Put extra tanks in and go to the main land. Add hrs that way.

@120 hrs here but now down for new Dynon panel thru Jan.  New  Pics?  OH wait this is an airplane forum and not the classic car forum but I guess if I have a 56 year old airplane I needed a 35 year old car to match it in the hangar  :-)   Today's new equipment is so mundane

The year's not over yet, but I'm at 94 currently.  I know I'll fly at least another 4 before the year's out, but that will probably still be just a bit short of my goal of 100 hrs annually.

Not nearly enough even though the Mooney is in great shape.  Retired last Dec and had big plans to fly often.  Always something to do right in front of me.  Too many hobbies; too many projects to catch up on after 35 years of work.  Trips became complicated with COVID, the rental car shortage, the relentless marine layer, and the lack of IFR currency.  Trying to make flying a priority again.  I feel better now...

99.7 this year, with some obligatory down time for mechanical stuff.

Favorite pics from this year.  Ride home with the kids from vacation and a few Angel Flights.
