Robert67
Can someone tell me if the square metal part of the hanger is supposed to be loose and floating or does the metal block mount rigidly to the firewall? Thanks
Shadrach
Should float. Edited August 17, 2021 by Shadrach

carusoam
With one bolt, and being off center to the bracket bolt’s centerline… There isn’t much choice but to float… Oddly, the aluminum block looks a lot like the ones used for the engine mounts… but with four mounting bolts, the engine is held pretty much in one place… no floating… See if @M20Doc is cruising by… (exhaust hanger mount rigidity question) Best regards, -a-
Guest
Both holes in the aluminum block have steel bushings, suggesting that the block and bracket are meant to be free to rotate. Clarence
