Handheld radios

Recommended Posts

Old radios can be good for making a Base Station, I have 2 170B’s eventually one will be a Base Station and the other will get mounted in the golf cart. Either could be an option for you, but neither will work in your plane :)

Two things I really like about the PJ2.

  • No Nav radio. That's just wasted functionality while cluttering up the unit.
  • Built in headset jacks so no need for extra adaptors, dongles, etc.

I am leaning towards the PJ2....

It does not have the ability for 8.33 spacing.  I wonder when or if that will be a thing here in the USA.  It is a royal pain in the ass overseas.  Trying to remember that freq for a read back is a killer....and I have seen it dorked up in the cockpit at least once on every flight.
