211º
This morning when driving under departing Amazon Prime jets out of CVG, it looked like they might be lit on the bottom. That got me thinking - who is going to have the first Mooney with tricked-out underwing LED lighting? Extra credit if you can tie or time the lights to Alexa. hammdo
Lunken! Flew in and out of there in my warrior. Lived in the area 30 years. I too would love an under wing led light - especially for taxi at night.. -Don
carusoam
If you aim a light from the cowling, at the wing’s leading edge.... you can call it an ice light... It is part of the FIKI system... -a-
1964-M20E
call it a landing light we have control over that circuit. I have thought about how to put a light in one of the inspection panels and point it down or point 15 to 45 degrees down from straight ahead. ZuluZulu
Slightly off-topic, but how about uptail lighting? As in, the lights on airliners illuminating the tail art. The only such lights I've ever seen on a Mooney belong to @N811SS.
carusoam
We need to refresh the tail art thread... -a-

Apart from the legalities and possible installation issues, I’d be concerned with ruining the clean look of the surface. Having said all that it would certainly look good at night. carusoam
You guys might be in luck... Have a look at the new sensor for knowing your altitude above the runway... I’m pretty sure it is both a laser light and a sensor... Swap it for an LED pointed in the favored direction... and cut the sheet metal the same way for a flush fit... In this case, inspection panels are used in case you want to swap the device out at a later date... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a-
