Lowering Glare Shield On Ovation 2

Larry, unless the physical height of the panel itself was lowered two inches all the way across (including your radio stack and CB panel), there isn't an option available.  As Tom called out, even if your panel was lowered, fitting the one-piece glareshield would encroach on the SS frame to the point of it becoming an engineering/design challenge to remotely make it work.  I had this conversation with Brian some time ago, and based on the extreme nature of the change, I sincerely doubt you want to go this route.

After removing the Moritz engine gauge cluster and updating the panel has anyone installed the Ovation 3 glare shield for better visibility? Contemplating the change and what might be involved.

Having owned the taller paneled Ovation, I never considered the panel/glareshield height a visibility issue.  Possibly if one is thinking forward visibility is hampered by the panel/glareshield,  it's my opinion that any perceived visibility over the cowl [on ground or in the air] is because of the cowling length itself.  Especially if you've transitioned from a 4 cylinder Mooney to a 6 cylinder Mooney.

With that said, I'm super glad my Ovation had articulating front seats!   Life is short, and so am I......
