Aspen2013
Does anyone know for sure the part number for EGT probe on this engine? It gives input to G1000, not analog gauge. We think Alcor 86255. Not sure where to find part number on existing probe. Thanks Edited March 8, 2021 by Aspen2013 Add photo
LANCECASPER
It looks like an Alcor 86255. Ovations and J models use them. What does the Mooney Parts Manual for the Acclaim say? They may use a Mooney part number which is actually made by Alcor.
carusoam
If you have enough information already... You can proceed directly to Lasar... ask for Dan in spare parts... Looks like you are describing the ordinary EGT sensor used by all of the IO550s... so there are probably a few on the shelf... Dan can verify all of that as well... The cool thing about TCs... thermocouples generate microvolts... it won’t matter if it is connected to a cool digital panel like a G1000, or connected to an Alcor instrument using now electricity at all! The TIT sensor may be different... it may be more robust, you only have one, and it is important for proper engine operations... PP thoughts only... buddy
I replaced one of my EGT probes about 1 1/2 years ago with an Alcor 86255 and I have a 2005 Ovation with the G1000. I got mine from Chief Aircraft $95.
