Wheel wells, spar for signs of corrosion. Have him remove the belly pans and

ck the stub spar (for the flaps) for any cracks:

spar splice cap for corrosion:

fuel leaks (fuel senders, wheel well, fill tanks and look for seeping rivets on wing walk)

control rods rusting, fuel selector/drain, gear donuts/disks

open all panels for sure, look for guide blocks wearing on the controls in empennage..

congrats on the plane! I have a ‘66 ;o)

How and where does he get access to view the spar splice cap?

Spar Splice is in front of the rear seat, middle of the floor.

Just where folks spill drinks in the back  ;o)

And where water pours out of the aft overhead air vents if the drain tube is blocked.  Or- if you fly through the remnants of a tropical storm and overwhelm the drain tube .

You are young and wild and thus the Ranger suits you.  Soon enough though you will mature and begin to appreciate cigars and double martinis.  When you do, the Executive awaits you.
