Update on Plessey/GEC gear actuator torsion springs

A few weeks ago I saw a rumor here that Mooney had some new stock of no-back springs (the SB calls them "torsion springs") for the Plessey/GEC gear actuators. I asked my MSC to investigate and wanted to share an update.

Yes, the factory did receive a shipment of torsion springs for GEC/Plessey actuators back in November, but all of them have been spoken for.

I have my name on the list for the next batch of springs. If you have one of these older actuators, expressing your interest may help encourage the factory to get another round manufactured soon.

Overall this is great news and reflects well on the renewed effort from the factory to support the Mooney community.

Not sure why they are manufactured in such small quantities, it’s not like they’re bananas are have a limited shelf life. I’d manufacture enough for a 1 year so customers aren’t left hanging for such a small but important part.
