Mooneys on the move

I came across this search feature on FlightAware today: search by aircraft type. So here are the so-called M20P planes in the air in and around the US on a Thursday afternoon.

A few days ago I looked during the afternoon and right then there were 102 M20P and 27 M20T in the air!

Why did you say "so-called M20P"?

According to the FAA...

There are only two types of Mooneys...

• Fast, and...  : M20P (the NA kind)
• Faster...       : M20T (the turbo / fire breathing dragon kind)

Hmm, where is @carusoam’s plane?  Maybe he’s taking pictures for the 2020 flights thread? Oh wait.  He’s online here at MS.  
Carusoam, you better dust your bird off and burn some dinosaurs. Otherwise a flock of seagulls will decide that the runway is their domain.

flightaware understands wildcards.  Try M20* as the type.

Flightaware now shows planes on IFR flightplans and ADSB out.  Well the ADSB out if is 1090hz, sometimes 978 if there is a receiver in the area.  Maybe flight following, not sure.

ADSB out helps getting noticed...

Flight following puts you in the system... enough...

IFR, you are in the system...

I need to go dust off the runaway at 26N... too many birds laying out clam shells.  Some form of anti-vehicle maneuvering...
