The policies I’ve had limit open pilot to occasional use. The rule of thumb I’ve been told is the open pilot should not have their own keys. Not a hard rule but an easy one to describe in court.

Insured The unqualified word "Insured", wherever used in this Policy with respect to Coverages A,B,C, and D, includes not only the Named Insured but also any person while using or riding in the Aircraft and any person or organization legally responsible for its use, porvided the actual use is with the express permission of the Named Insured.

If the named insured is an LLC, does this protect the named pilot and open pilot from subrogation ?

Does the LLC hold a pilot certificate?

When I’ve done this I’ve also had to name each pilot as named insured even though the owner is listed as the Corp (I’m sure you can’t name the Corp as the pilot).
Unless the rules have changed any pilot with regular access must be named, even if they meet open pilot.
