mooneyflyer Posted September 11, 2020 Report Posted September 11, 2020 As I fly On 1 Battery, are both fully charging? Or only the battery selected?

carusoam Posted September 12, 2020 Report Posted September 12, 2020 Pilot side battery has some hot memory things attached to it... Otherwise, the two batteries are treated the same... The one that is selected charges at a high rate, the one not selected gets the trickle charge... Switch batteries each flight to even things out... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a-

One will charge the other in flight. 6 hours ago, Davidv said: There is a trickle charge to the one not being used. Still a good idea to swap them every flight or so. Indeed...they should be swapped each flight to maintain conditioning and balance. Using this procedure along with flying the aircraft weekly or better, a battery minder isn’t required. I’m going on 8 years now with a pair of Concordes using this procedure. 3
