I watched an old guy pour either Ajax or Comet cleanser down the throat of a carburetor on a VW dune buggy that smoked real bad, said it would deglaze the cylinders and allow the rings to reseat...... didn’t smoke near as bad when it was all said and done but I’m certain your never see it in any Service Letter or Bulletin from ANY Engine Manufacturer :D

Something to try out on an engine that's going for an overhaul anyway...

Well I made the trip from 6B6 to FXE this afternoon and the dust tops were just below 16k.  The pic on top was taken around Jacksonville and the is canaveral where it started to get a little better...

I flew through it today from SAV to VDF.  I filed IFR at 10,000.  Even though all of the airports along the route were reporting VFR, I would not want to fly through it as a VFR-only pilot.  ATC was saturated, and was declining requests for VFR flight following.
