Schinderhannes
I am in the process of installing a Garmin GTX330 and was wondering if there is still value in wiring the ARINC connection to the GPS for TIS-A. Does TIS-A broadcast any information not covered by TIS-B and are there areas with TIS-A, but no TIS-B coverage. Are there plans to shut down TIS-A in the near future? Thank you, Frank
OR75
TIS-A will stay where traffic matters most : in and near class B airspace
Gary0747
As far as I know, There is no way of knowing what you are seeing on your screen is TISA or TISB?
Marauder
As far as I know, There is no way of knowing what you are seeing on your screen is TISA or TISB? I always thought TIS-A was limited to ES type transponders. If your using a 978 device, I think you’ll only get TIS-B. I fly in a Class B area served by TIS-A and have an ES transponder. I can’t tell if I can receiving TIS-A or B. I can tell when I get TAS from my active traffic unit. Think I need to pull up the “this is TIS” for a refresher.
