dma,

How far out of service is it?

Do you need the mechanic to come to it?

Or flyable and looking for a complete refresh?

Is it just one thing, or a whole bunch of things...

Or is this a long way of saying, it’s been out of annual, and needs to get back in..?

Give  us a hint...  we know a few mechanics and an MSC that are good at this kind of stuff...

Welcome aboard,

Independent A&P's are not permitted to work at Opa Locka anymore. You have to have a commercial agreement with the airport authority and show that to the FBO's that control the gates to get access to the ramps. They are pretty aggressive about enforcing it too. You can be arrested for trespassing, if they don't just yell at you and throw you out. Anyone who lets in an independent mechanic gets their tie down lease revoked too. Not a friendly place for small planes since about 2014. There were two or three of us who used to come in and work on some of the planes there, until the airport goons went crazy with power.

To make matters worse, there are no shops at OPF that really want to work on small planes. Boca Aircraft Maintenance has a hangar there, that may be the only option.

Miami Dade is run by bureaucrats that don't care about anything but their next paycheck.

An A&P can work on his own plane, but can't do much since there are no hangars available.

Does this include X51? I'm down here for work for about 9 more days and would like to get my fuel pump looked at/possibly replaced.
