dooleypster
East coast flat lander here...... anyone with good ideas for a J model (non-turbo) routing from say Ft Worth to the KSNA area?
Skates97
Looking for IFR routing or VRF? VFR is pretty easy, go El Paso -> Tucson -> then either the southern most route along I-8 and up the coast or a little more to the north along I-10. Some IFR guys will chime in with routes.

BKlott
Might look at Tucumcari (TCC) and Winslow (INW). Rode right seat in a C Model along that route going to and from Torrance (TOA) in the summer of 1970.
TGreen
Maybe a fuel stop in Las Cruces. Then PSP, through the Banning Pass, PDZ, a couple more miles Southwest, then hang a left.
cliffy
FWS-ELP-SSO-GBN-BLH-TRM-SNA Pick your fuel stops Nothing along the route you can't go around or over. If you go to KSNA pick your FBO carefully. Some are very expensive one is OK, the newest one. Edited May 13, 2020 by cliffy

I stopped at SNA a couple years ago to grab an ebay purchase down the street from the airport. ACI has a fridge full of beverages and a couple brand new crew cars. If I ever have to go back to Irvine I'm parking there again.
