Starlink Satellites?

Recommended Posts

This morning I walked out to pick up the newspaper at about 5:30. There was a good size hole in the clouds and the stars were bright. As I gazed at Ursa Major I noticed a fairly bright “star” to the northwest moving eastward.  Then in trail about 5 seconds apart there were 5 more. I suspected they were military as they were heading towards Whidbey Naval Airstation but lights didn’t flash and was just one steady bright white light.  I was considering making a report to MUFON ;) but googled instead and am now sure it was a string of Elon Musks Skylink satellites. Very impressive sight.

Love it!  I believe the title is Starlink.  Thank you for sharing this.

I edited the title. Great website. It confirms that’s what I saw.  Going out to look again in a few minutes. 5:47 AM this morning

FWIW, astronomers and many other people who are trying to make space productive (comm, sensing, etc.) hate these things.   They're mostly in the way.

Musk says he’s working on a way so as not to cause their  interference.  If anyone can, Elon Musk and associates will find a way!

And Musk will be a hero for solving a problem he created.   It's a recurring pattern.
