This is why we have the Mooney. Worked half a day on Friday and then flew to Salt Lake to surprise my sister for her 50th birthday. Then we got up Saturday morning, picked some raspberries for my dad

I flew to West Yellowstone and back this weekend. There's a great camp ground in the trees just off the ramp and inside the airport fence, that is for fly-in camping only. Two other Mooneys and a Coma

There are two types of people, those who look up every time they hear a plane and look to try and find it, and those that don’t even notice. My granddaughter Hazel, every time she hears a plane, is lo

Went by Sedona yesterday.   Yet another pic showing how the airport is situated.   A lot of people that visit Sedona don't even know it has an airport, even though it's essentially in the middle of town.

Wednesday after work I made the two mile drive to the airport for a nice sunset flight with my wife. It was a beautiful flight along the coast in the smooth evening air. A few pictures, more pictures and some short videos on my website. @Hyett6420, recognize the lifejacket? :) After your presentation at Mooney Summit last year we never fly along the coast without them on.

Tonight my wife and I did an out and back through the NYC SFRA at sunset. It was a beautiful night and hardly anyone was out there.

If you look closely at the shot of the trade center, you can see the Mooney reflected in the glass.

All photo credit to my wife.

Go Freedom Tower! :)
Fantastic colors and shiny glass!

Looks like you caught The Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, and Central Park too!

Also, while looking North... Govenor’s Island, and the Brooklyn Bridge...  Across the Hudson is Jersey City and the Goldman Sack’s building...

Go NYC!

Best regards,

Wednesday I had a rare day off and my wife and I headed to the airport to fly the Mooney on a burger run. Instead we ended up going for a ride in my friend's Murphy Moose. My first time in a tailwheel and first time landing on a grass strip. It was awesome! More photos, videos, and the write-up on my blog.

In addition to having some of the cheapest avgas around at $3.25/gal., Arthur Field (M95) in Fayette, Alabama, also has a large Christmas lights display set up in the park right next to the runway.   My co-pilot and I flew up there yesterday evening for her birthday, and enjoyed it.  Sorry, no good photos were taken.  But- if you are in the area it is worth seeing.  Best to land just before dark so you can see any deer on the runway.

Now you've done it, I have to go look up Fayette! Because Lafayette is near here (call it 35' east of Alex City) but sadly has no airport . . . . Didn't know there even was a Fayette, too, although Georgia has both, and my inlaws are in Fayetteville, NC (GA has one of those, too, just not in Fayette County).

Sadly, Fayette, AL is clear across the state, in the far side of T-town.  :(  A little far to go look at the lights.

Last Saturday was a beautiful day for a flight down the coast to Gillespie. We got to fly right past Mirarmar, three miles off the approach end, if only we could have turned inbound....

No, selfie mode flips the picture. I usually catch it and flip it back the right way but missed this one.

The only hint.... the mic books usually only go one way....
But, they can be easily changed...

Hmmm.... flight lessons for the SIC?
She really looks like an official Mooney pilot!

Charles,

You get today’s Eagle Eye prize!

Or Owl eye prize!

I had to turn up the screen brightness to see it.

:)

Thanks,
