RB,

If that is a video, and you want to share it...

Drop it into YouTube... and copy the link, post the link here... YT does all the work...  :)

+1 tail winds are like a turbo charger, with less maintenance...

Best regards,

-a-

I think what happens is my camera takes multiple pics, and I don't catch it.  So it's not a movie per se, but I think the page sees it as a video.

Been away for some time because of a dying ipad. Sadly no one noticed.  Anyway have been doing some of my local trips and Snoopy has been performing well like always.  Just finished my first annual a few weeks ago not using LASAR. Didn't make much sense having to fly it to Rancho since they moved away from 1o2.  I don't even know if they have an IA down there since Chris has left.  Tom's aircraft used to do my Cessna and tom worked under Paul Loewen for years and knows mooneys.  Found a couple issues but nothing major always nice to get past em and be good to go for another year.

Trip from NC to KSAF with stops at KBYH and KOUN - both great stops - KBYH is an old SAC base with an updated FBO, great folks, great snacks, and great fuel prices.

Cruise Aviation at KOUN was also great - highly recommend them for stops in the Oklahoma City Area.

Over TN near Nashville -

KBYH's huge tarmac (a B52 wing used to fly out of there) is now being used to recycle a big chunk of Delta's MD-80 Fleet -

Over West Texas

And into NM, with negative gravity... a 6000' pristine asphalt PRIVATE strip on top of mesa outside of Las Vegas, NV. Researched it - turns out it is a famous Vault...

Only problem was a controller that tried to get me to lose 6,000' in 10 miles to make the field. "I can go down or slow down..."

Not true, I've been wondering where you have been. Glad you are back. :)

+1 for the Bonal sighting!

Its that time of year for huge fires on one coast and hurricanes on the other...

Thought you might be stuck cleaning up what is left after the big fires...

As author of one the coolest MS threads ever...

It will be hard to fade away... even if you want to... :)

Best regards,

Thanks for that, well two days ago we flew Snoopy Down to LVK to visit family and celebrate my Bday. OAT was 39 degrees and its so amazing how much performance I gain in cold air.  Same power settings same altitude and IAS is over 10 knots faster. saw 175 mph GPS ground speed with very little wind.  Love how much temps go down on oil and cylinders. Two perfect landings and very smooth clear air made for a nice day of aviation.

Wednesday after work I made the two mile drive to the airport for a nice sunset flight with my wife. It was a beautiful flight along the coast in the smooth evening air. A few pictures, more pictures and some short videos on my website. @Hyett6420, recognize the lifejacket? :) After your presentation at Mooney Summit last year we never fly along the coast without them on.

Tonight my wife and I did an out and back through the NYC SFRA at sunset. It was a beautiful night and hardly anyone was out there.

If you look closely at the shot of the trade center, you can see the Mooney reflected in the glass.

All photo credit to my wife.

Go Freedom Tower! :)
Fantastic colors and shiny glass!

Looks like you caught The Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, and Central Park too!

Also, while looking North... Govenor’s Island, and the Brooklyn Bridge...  Across the Hudson is Jersey City and the Goldman Sack’s building...

Go NYC!

Best regards,

Wednesday I had a rare day off and my wife and I headed to the airport to fly the Mooney on a burger run. Instead we ended up going for a ride in my friend's Murphy Moose. My first time in a tailwheel and first time landing on a grass strip. It was awesome! More photos, videos, and the write-up on my blog.

In addition to having some of the cheapest avgas around at $3.25/gal., Arthur Field (M95) in Fayette, Alabama, also has a large Christmas lights display set up in the park right next to the runway.   My co-pilot and I flew up there yesterday evening for her birthday, and enjoyed it.  Sorry, no good photos were taken.  But- if you are in the area it is worth seeing.  Best to land just before dark so you can see any deer on the runway.
