Low Voltage light flashing in a J..

All...a Hangar neighbor has a J that has an annoying flashing Low Voltage light. He knows it’s a nuisance light as he has other means to read Voltage. I believe I have found the device that turns it on, a small black unit that looks like an old film canister. It very hard to get to and located under the upper right cook the glareshield. Has 3 colored wires going into it. We looked in prints but scant info. Anyone have any first hand knowledge of this device and the associated problem?

Ours is a '78 and the the low voltage is part of the annunciator.  If I remember right, there is a trim pot inside the annunciator to adjust the voltage at which it comes on.

There is, if you spray it with electronics cleaner, adjust it back and forth 20 times or more to clean it, then readjust it, it will fix it.
