So?  How about listing all the things that you want in a Mooney and how much you're willing to pay?

It also helps if we know where you fly out of and what your experience is...

42k is my budget...not looking for the latest model obviously.....basically frame and engine in good shape....don’t care about the avionics as I have a complete set ready to be install.
Fly out of S FL..but I am open to travel where ever so as long as the bird is in good condition.

Given that you don't care much about the avionics, your $42K is probably pretty reasonable.  However, the devil is in the details.

Aside from no preference for avionics, what are you "hoping for" for $42K besides a sound airframe and engine? 

Do you plan on keeping the plane in a hangar, or tied down in S. FL?  :huh:

Thnx for the links I already looked those up....not interested....just thought someone here have one off the market within US that I can take a look...I found a really nice one with low hours on the engine/frame but it’s is Canada....the import stuff will make the airplane overpriced...hoping the seller will have some compassion for me ...will ccc

What on Earth is wrong with the ones Mooneymite posted?  They're all in your price range.  I think you need to be a tad more specific.  If you're looking for a C with a freshly overhauled engine for $42K, I think you're going to be disappointed.

It is getting difficult to find an airplane that makes sense to purchase when you are working with that kind of budget. The airplanes listed meet the price range but also have some deficiencies that will be expensive to correct. Like the fifty five year old original interior or the radio gear from the 1960s and 1970s that is absolutely worthless. A Genave marker beacon, really? “Honey, the Smithsonian is on the phone. They’re interested in your radios.”

You can drop $10K to $12K on a quality leather interior job and easily two to three times (or more) that amount on modern avionics upgrades. Before you know it, you’re in for $70K to $80K with your $42K budget. Then, if you get caught with an engine job, where are you?

Guys who have spent the money modernizing their airplanes and keeping up their condition are just not going to give away a good airplane for $30K to $40K, not when they have $100K to $150K invested. Good airplanes bring good money and do not sit around unsold.

Other guys clearly care little about the condition of their airplanes. They won’t spend a dime that they don’t have to. They’ll literally fly their planes into the ground, allowing them to deteriorate to the point that they are used up and beyond economic recovery. They become worthless. Even if they gave you the airplane for free, it would cost far more to make it into a nice airplane again than it would ever be worth. You would probably be better off just buying something newer that is better equipped and in better condition to begin with, even though the price of admission is higher to start with.

Unless you specify why these were unacceptable, you're not gonna get much help around here. I've only assisted 7 or 8 finding Mooneys here, and others have helped many more than I. But you're not giving out enough information for anyone to help.

Importing from Canada is not as big of a problem as you might think. As part of the transaction, the seller can provide for an Export Certificate of Airworthiness. This is accepted by a US DAR who reviews the paperwork and the plane in conjunction with the US mechanic who will do a conformity inspection. It typically would be less than $2500 on a Mooney with clean paperwork.
