Seth1001
Hey everyone, I'm shopping around for a Mooney M20 and I found one in Flagstaff that is intriguing to me. I'm looking for an A&P to do a pre-buy inspection for me but I can't get a response from the two that I've found online. Is there a list somewhere or a better resource than google for this sort of thing? Does anybody know someone? Thanks in advance.

carusoam
Welcome aboard Seth. Keep in mind that sending planes for a PPI can get expensive fast... Make sure you do some level of due diligence up front to make sure the plane is worth sending to the next step... There is plenty of room for misunderstanding what a seller is describing and a buyer is understanding... I typically want to see a machine with my own eyes, and read it’s log books before sending to a PPI... Lots of pics and copies of logs are a great way to start... Buying a plane far away has Additional challenges.... There is a list of Mooney Service Centers kept on the Mooney website... you may find some good ideas there... PP thoughts only, not a plane sales guy... Best regards, -a-
Seth1001
Thanks to everyone who helped. Unfortunately that plane got snagged out from under me. That's how it goes when you work out of the country. Expect a similar post from me concerning a different plane in a different location in the near future. carusoam
The first one usually gets away, Seth... The next one, you will be so prepared for... Find, see, PPI, purchase agreement, buy, TT, fly home... in a few weeks... Being across the country or out of the country adds to the challenge... Seth1001
What's a "TT"?

It can range from barely cover starting procedures... and go up to complete IR flights and procedures... Most important things that get covered are the normal procedures... all phases of flight, including Landing, Go-arounds, and stalls... My favorite was E-procedures... best to do with somebody that has seen them before... Insurance often requires days of TT... might as well spend it on a TT CFII and get the most out of it...
