HIghpockets
I tried mounting my iPad on my panel with a RAM EZ Roller mount and it left this mark on my panel. Does anyone have any useful suggestions concerning removal of the stain.? I didn't like the location of the iPad.I prefer to continue to use my knee pad. ExpressJetter
Idk if a mr. Clean magic eraser would work or change the panel cover. But try it in a corner first
takair
That is a matte finish, so rubbing it with most things can cause further polishing and pretty soon you will have to do the entire panel. You may want to try using a finger to see if it is simply oil residue. Or try dabbing with a clean cloth.
Hector
Did it leave a residue of some sort. I assume you tried wiping it with a damp microfiber cloth or similar. If residue try googoneSent from my iPad using Tapatalk
N201MKTurbo
Remove the panel and apply flat black Krylon. Replace the panel. It will look great!

carusoam
Something to consider... 1) the rough matte finish may have gotten polished a bit... and there is no un-polishing that I can think of... 2) If the suction cup was a PVC material... similar to shower curtains and shower mirror suction cups.... they all use a solvent plasticizer to keep them flexible... 3) Now... how do we use that piece of information to our advantage..? Back in the day when we could afford new cars (before we got Mooneys).... there was much PVC used in the cars... and that plasticizer would evaporate and deposit on the inside of the windshield... kind of an oily substance... As if somebody had been smoking in the car... 4) all it took to remove the plasticizer was a good quality window cleaner... one that wouldn't evaporate and leave another film behind... Good luck with the stain... the worst thing that can happen is it spreads around.... in that case sending the piece to the panel shop to be re-finished becomes a possible next step.... Or cover the stain with the next iPad holder that has arms to allow the iPad some flexibility to where you want it to be... Or at. You trying to use that spot in the panel for something else? Lance Link
That panel and the one next to it above the audio panel look like the finish is different than the ones on either side, and look to be easily removal, so I agree with the spray paint idea. If you want spray paint made of iron, get Alumihyde from the Brownell's gunsmithing web site.
