NicoN
We have a 1980 M20K with a venerable Century 21 A/P. I am missing a A/P disconnect button. My Co-owners say we have on the left yoke - but this button does exactly what is written on the sticker: trim interrupt. Does the Century 21 A/P has the feature of a disconnect-button? And in case it has this feature: is it typical for a M20K NOT having such a button? And then - how could such a button be wired ? I did not find a schematic or installation manual for a Century 21 so far Edited September 2, 2019 by NicoN

NicoN
Does the Century 41 have a Auto-Trim-feature? We have only electric trim, so this button seems not to be connected with the A/P at all (but I have never tried)

It uses the same servo connected to the trim switch on my yoke. My trim switch requires two actions to operate - push down and then rocker fore/aft. I have attached a snip from the C41 manual because I don't have a good picture of the trim switch in the plane.
Bob Weber
Yes it does, there is a service bulletin out about it. Give a call if you would like 616 822 1999

Here is what the manual says. It appears not all installations have the disconnect on the yoke. Cheers, Dan
NicoN
Correct. But the Maintenance is not sure that it is possible and HOW to wire a button. It should be easily possible if you know which pins have to be shorted (or opened). AFAIK other century A/P have a pin on a connector which is connected to GND. If it is open then the A/P goes off. The disconnect button then should be a normally-closed model. SOo, I simply need a wiring manual with the functions of the pins. So far, I did not find a service or installation manual. One once was on ebay, but is terribly expensive and no more available
DanM20C
You might try sending an email to century tech support. I have had good luck getting little bits of info about my c41 from them. You have to be patient though, I have had it take weeks to get a response. But I’m guessing they would share the pin out schematic with you. I want a service manual for the c41 but it’s hard to stomach $550, consider yourself lucky the C21 is only $300 . cheers, Dan
NicoN
smaller A/P, cheaper manual, sounds normal. I tried the EMail; let's see how it goes.
NicoN
So, I got the information that the M20K was not STC'd with a disconnect button. But what is the resason to renounce? Do really all M20K equipped with a Century 21 have no A/P disconnect?
