PJClark
Hey all, Rocket Drivers especially: my 86 Rocket fresh out of paint and interior today. Good as new, faster than new (almost) but 1/4 the price! What a machine! 20

PJClark
Well this is a little frightening. It's gonna be fiiiiine...
ArtVandelay
The new instrument panel looks like it’s tight against the side panel, might want to shave off a little so that it’s not so tight and may make getting the glare shield off easier as well.Tom
PJClark
That's a cardboard cutout for now. They'll test fit everything and adjust as needed before they cut the aluminum panel. Good call though!

carusoam
That looks like a very expensive piece of cardboard! PJ, are you doing the work, or can you just look away... while it’s being completed? It is hard to look at a Mooney That has been so dis-assembled... Good luck for a quick completion. Best regards, -a-
PJClark
Good God, no! I'm not doing it! Fact is I asked for a progress update an we've been trading CAD layouts. So I got a pic and got what I deserved :-) next update should show stuff starting to go back together which will be a little less traumatic!
steingar
From the title I thought the OP was claiming his aircraft was homosexual.
Trailboss
I like the plan, looks just like my "phase 2" (Phase 1 shown here). I would highly recommend replacing the rocker switches with new.
PJClark
Slow and steady...I guess. Wiring allegedly done, JPI back from factory programming and ready to install next week. Perhaps it may be done before the next ice age makes it too hard to start?
RogueOne
Coming along. I resemble your challenge in getting into the air.
PJClark
Which is a good point. I'm a noob at airplane mods. Paint job 5 weeks turned into 3 months (it is gorgeous though) and now avionics shop's 5 weeks is just past 6 and headed for 8 or 9 weeks. Thus: is the thing that simply NOBODY in general aviation maintenance does anything on time? I'll adjust my expectations if I should, guess I'm 2/3 there already
ArtVandelay
No, take the time they tell you and double it. That conversion works pretty well. If anything changes during process, clock restarts.Tom

bradp
I’ve seen a bunch of panels that get CNCd on plexiglass for identification of fittment issues before cutting the expensive stuff. Looks great!
