Type of Airspeed indicator in a M20K 1980

Our airspeed indicator looks terrible . the face (?) colours look very pale.

So I asked a local manufacturer for repair/repainting the face.

But they need the type of indicator to tell me if they can do the job.

Is this a common type?

Instrument shops re-paint the faces of instruments using screen printing techniques...

The more complex the instrument, the more complex the screen printing...

ASI with a true speed mechanical calculator is a bit more challenging...

Send them a picture of the instrument, if you can’t get the part number detail...

Marauder had his repainted a few years ago... he gave all the details that went with the project... it looked  brand new and modern when it was done...

Sounds like you may need a better instrument shop...

Best regards,

The glass in our '83 J was very fogged over and we had it cleaned while the plane was down for repairs. The difference is like day and night.

had the same thing done to our J years ago by my previous avionics shop.  Very happy with the result other than when my gear wouldn't retract upon departure (had to  d make some adjustments on the back of the ASI as I recall--may want to double check this if you pull yours out and open it up).
