Instrument lights

87 J model, has anyone had issues with the instrument light dimmer switch?  I thought i was the small capacitor but no luck......rheostat seems to benoperating normal by checkin with multimeter......what im i missing???

...yes, the lights work because they where intermittently working and the fuses in the back are good....

Check for two rheostats in the plane one for instruments and one for cabin lights...

I have the same problem. I think it is the light controller in the avionics bay. Mine still not fixed. Sometimes they flicker.

Bryan, have you investigated your dimmer switches??    Im really hopingb ts not the control box since onlybthe instrument lights dont work and the glare shield lights do

Yes, dimmer controls on the dash are getting power and varrying power correctly on dimming.

Always a good idea to check the grounding.
