A price that isn't sideways might be a good idea.  Nice looking Mooney, good luck with the sale.

I never thought I'd see this day....of course I said the same thing when I sold my E.  :P

Congrats on getting a Missile!  :)

Well maintained...check.

Flies often...check.

ADSB-Out...check.

What's not to love about this E....nothing.  ;)  Someone is going to get a nice aircraft.

Thanks Brian.  Truth be told me neither.  “New” bird will need a lot of TLC in the beginning...but I look forward to the ultimate payoff.  I of course agree on your checklist above. Lol.  She is sorted and the new owner(s) should be able to turn the key and enjoy.  I know you are enjoying your current steed.  Fly safe.  I bet your boys won’t fit in the back seat of an E the way they did when you all visited C.R.!  They taller than the “old man” yet?

I'm jealous! Missiles are sweet, and there just aren't very many. Enjoy your new ride!

Jon is - he's 6'4" and still growing...so yes, blew right past me....lol!  :o   He's a Blackhawk crew chief/mechanic now and currently chasing bad guys somewhere in Afghanistan via air...

Ben is 16 now and well, almost catching up.  Not sure if he'll pass me, but it'll be close.

Cheers,

Brian

Anyone know/remember how long it generally takes to receive a contact from Controller.com?  They review your sale posting and contact you.  It states that they review in order received so likely the time to get listing seen varies, but wondered about what kind of range others had experienced?

If I remember correctly, it was 3-4 business days from when I submitted to when I got a call and they posted it.  They'll try to give their best sales pitch to get $$$ out of you, but just tell them you want the standard free listing, nothing more.  It was posted online about an hour after that.  Only bad thing is I couldn't make changes (i.e. updating the hours since I was still flying it) after posting unless I called and did the same dance with the sales rep.  It was a bit irritating and hope they fixed that since then to allow you to keep it up to date.

Ahhhhhhhhh.  O.K. That makes sense.  I should get a call next week.  A nicely equipped E was up last week briefly and dropped off.  Hope they got a quick sale.  Seemed priced “right” for the package.  Thanks Brian.

It’ll sell very quickly if you price it right, Scott.  I sold my J via word of mouth in a week last Fall.  Yeah, I could have probably gotten a few more AMUs out of it if I had been willing to sit on it for six months dealing with tire kickers and dreamers, all the while paying for it’s upkeep.  Extracting the last couple of percent of value out of an airplane is a fool’s errand IMHO.

I’m really happy that you are “back” and am very much looking forward to hearing more about this new Rocket of yours.   Freaking awesome!

Jim

Thank you Jim.  Asking price is just the beginning of the negotiation, right? :)

The Missile I found most certainly will have “issues” that need sorting, but we now have three committed to getting her sorted.  I am really looking forward to flying this J conversion.  More to follow on that...

Whoever buys XRay will be getting a turn key plane that is fully sorted.  Regarding that, it was a labor of love and fun sorting the plane and selectively upgrading.  The next owner can fly her as is or maker her theirs as we did.

Good luck with the sale and with your new bird. Looking forward to posts about it and the customizations you plan to do.

In addition to here and Controller what places did others list their plane for sale?  Barnstormers appeared to have a fee at the end of inputting all information.  Is that right in others experience?

There's a young feller in Kaliforny who has a new plane listing service advertised here, along with t-shirts and stuff. What's his name?Jesse maybe?

Got the “free” add up on barnstormers.  Appreciate other sites that are frequented and offer base “free” listing.

Hey Everyone:

If you know of anyone interested at all in entering the Vintage Mooney world know that we are interested in discussing our plane.  We have been told: “If priced right, IT will sell”.  We are ASKING $70k.  We understand that purchasing an airplane is a BIG DEAL.  The asking price is just that.  If you are NOT pursuing because of “price”, do not let THAT be a dealbreaker.

Thanks for your interest OR for passing along information to others interested in a Vintage M20E that is very well sorted and flying squak free.

Scott, why don't you update the subject line with the price? Always nice to know before reading the entire thread and searching for it somewhere in the posts.

Just a thought...
