Pre-Buy Fort Worth area

I live in Fort Worth and am contemplating buying a Mooney. I have owned airplanes before, but never a Mooney and not in this area. I am looking for advice on a good A&P who good do a pre-buy on an airplane. Any helpful advice welcomed

Don Maxwell is the best you'll find in this part of the world.  Donmaxwell.com is their website and is located in Longview.  BTW, welcome to MS.  There are several members here on the forum in the DFW area.

Hands down, for this area, best is Don Maxwell in Longview. I was typing this as Don R's message hit.

Broadie's aircraft at FTW is a Mooney Service Center. I have used them for several things in the past but not recently.  I bought my first aircraft 20+ years ago which was a 1978 C Model from the late Mr. Broadie.  Worth a call... You can't go wrong with Maxwell if the seller will get the plane there.

You want either Don Maxwell in Longview or JD at Southwest Texas Aviation (SWTA) in Smithville to do the pre-buy. 

Broadie's might have been good at one point, but I wouldn't get a pre-buy from them now.

@gsxrpilot If your speaking from experience, please provide more details.  I'm in and out of FTW on a regular basis.  If there is a reason they are to be avoided, I would like to know in case I have an issue when on field.

I addition to Maxwell and SWTA, there is Brian Kendrick at San Marcos which did my last annual.

Limey...Great choice to join up prior to getting a plane. I live in Weatherford and have an F project and fly another C at Parker county. PM me if you want. There are about 6 or 7 Mooney’s here..
