ESPN168
Are there any different from a factory Mooney with TKS vs retro fitting TKS? Other then costs involved.
carusoam
Two versions of TKS exist... FIKI non-FIKI Who installs it is important, you don’t want to be the first for some mechanic to learn on... The FIKI version comes with a few key back-up devices... PP thoughts, not a mechanic.. larryb
My understanding is the factory sends the new plane to cav for the install. They don’t do it themselves. So no difference. My system was installed at 50 hours or so.
exM20K
Strange - they used to have a list of installation centers on the website. That link now goes to a redirect. The google machine has a snapshot: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:0AXNumqp1bUJ:https://www.caviceprotection.com/content/tks-installation-centers+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us My 231 was done at Shoreline aviation in Marshfield, MA some 22 years ago, but they are no longer on that list. -de
