Cleveland Rotors

Recommended Posts

Are there any preferences regarding Cleveland Brake rotors:

164-02000  Standard steel rotor (for E,F,J)

164-12000 Stainless steel rotor  (for E,F,J)

I need to change rotors at next annual, and bought 1  164-12000 stainless rotor on e-bay for $80 ($256 usually SkyGeek)

I plan on purchased the second rotor by usual means.  Any reason not to use the stainless rotors?

Frictional characteristics might be different, as the heat transfer with SS is a bit lower than other steels....

Since few of us use maximum braking, we will probably not experience the difference...

The stainless will look better longer while doing pre-flight activities...

Passengers aren’t going to see rusty plane parts like they would getting in a Brand C....

PP thoughts only, not a mechanic...
