Hello everyone. This is Paul from The STC Group LLC. We are preparing to start on the Mooney STC effort. I need to locate a "Mooney Expert" that we can bounce questions off regarding ariframe design and any differences within a model group or year range. We have a 1961 M20 to use at this time. If there are going to be issues with roll or pitch servo installation design issues across the same, or different models, I'd like to discover that up front. This will allow for simplification and cut down on the number of parts we need to manufacture. Please feel free to contact me at my email. Include your mobile phone so I can call if I have additional questions. paul.odum@thestcgroupllc.com

This is good news!

Many of our planes have Brittain systems ranging from simple PC systems (wing levelers) to heading bugs for straightline flight (AccuTrac) to full horizontal control (AccuFlite); a few have altitude hold, but I don't know the name of it. These are all legacy systems running on vacuum pressure. I have PC, AccuTrac and AccuFlite, not an uncommon situation. I believe your 61 model may be a pre-Brittain PC model, though.

Don Maxwell has long been regarded as the Mooney guru when it comes to maintenance, repair and upgrades. Others are knowledgeable but he is approaching GOAT status within the community.

Please keep us updated, and feel free to ask questions. Many of us are curious and expectant.
