Gary0747
Looking for info on rehabbing high resistance Champion fine wire spark plugs. I think Champion used to do this? Does anybody know if they or any other outfit can still do this?
Guest
I recently threw 16 older Champion fine wire plugs out, half of them had high internal resistance, the other half had visible cracks in the electrodes. I removed the screws and resistors from all f the plug in an effort to save the none cracked ones. I gave up and bought 16 new Tempest fine wires and couldn’t be happier with the operation. carusoam
If you find a drawing that shows the resistor pellet in the champion design... It may be possible to exchange the resistor pellet... In the mean time... Order up the new plugs from the other guys... Disassemble the old plugs to see if exchanging the resistor is even possible... Report back what you find out... PP thoughts only. jetdriven
A couple of years ago champion stopped making them with resistor stacks and started using fired-in resistors and they’re sealed. . Doesn’t mean that they’re any better it just means they can’t be messed with
