apenney
Today I was able to change my hangar location to something that is south facing. What a big difference. The north facing hangar that I was in previously has a layer of ice in front of it that makes pulling the plane out very challenging if not impossible. I happen to now be next to another Mooney. By the looks of it though, it hasn't flown for a while. OLD HANGAR: NEW HANGAR NEW NEIGHBOR

Igor_U
Oh, maybe someone in search of project plane should talk to the owner. Or, even better, with owner's wife! Edited February 23, 2019 by Igor_U

My South facing hangar quite often has thick ice in front a lot like your old hangar. And our North hangars are much worse... My aerotow has chains on the big tire which helps VERY much. Sometimes I put those spike things on my shoes.

That flight looks like one of those FlightAware phantom flights. My N number sometimes shows up in Texas even though my plane has been there in years. It looks like one of those. Tom Maybe all of the dust is from the work of converting the plane back to a Mooney from a Cessna 172 haha...
PilotFun101
Have to love facing north. I have a hanger at Orange County MGJ and I get the same problem sometimes.

larryb
Here is my south facing hanger KTRK. First time ever I found the door frozen shut. Took 30 min of ice chipping to free it.
wiguy
Yes I face South in WI too, helps a lot to melt snow & ice. I have to look for help trying to push back solo with ice or snow on the ramp. Even with a tug, kitty litter isn’t enough.

wiguy
I’m hangared at one of the favorite fuel stops, BUU. Sorry, I don’t own a Mooney. I did look at one and ended up with this Rockwell Commander some how. Edited February 24, 2019 by wiguy
apenney
Just a few minutes away from KUES. Last time I was at BUU there was a line of 3 planes in front of me waiting for fuel haha!
wiguy
I may be up to KUES before long, looking at some add-ons(avionics) with Skycom. I’m not trying to go all out, but I do have an older, minimalist panel. My transponder is not long for this world, may just join the ADS-B bandwagon. I have been getting by with my IPad mini, a GDL-39, and Garmin Pilot. Edited February 25, 2019 by wiguy
apenney
Is there another commander based at BUU? I may have been behind you that day I was waiting to refuel....if not, then your plane looks very similar to the one I was behind. I think it was back in October.
