Replacement Door Seal

When I re-did my interior a little over a year ago, I replaced the broken Field's door seal with the Cheap Bast$#d's specials. Everything seemed fine until I noticed a little water sneaking in during a flight through rain and an even worse issue with a sizable air leak during a recent cold snap we had. I don't think the Lowe's special seal is working out. I am just checking with the collective what owner's recent experience has been with the following:

I can't speak for the ones you listed, but just in case, I used BA-706-M door seals from Brown Aircraft Supply some years ago.

It may be the same (mat’l/shape) as the seals sold by the suppliers listed by you, above??? 
Seal cement is extra - not included.

Couple years back I bought the Aircraft Door Seals at airventure.   I've not flown in rain but I can say that the air infiltration was stopped cold  (pun intended)   The one thing I do from time to time is put a thin coat of silicone on the rubber to help ensure a good seal.

I tried a few different versions of the Lowes/Home Depot special. I ended up buying the Aircraft Door seals and have been happy with it.

I had aircraft door seals, but they were too bulky and prevented the door from closing flush with fuselage. So far HD special fix that problem, and seem waterproof but I haven’t flown through heavy rain.

That's strange, when I was redoing my interior about a year ago, I gave them a call.  Someone called back right away and tried very hard to sell one to me.

I'm still considering it.  The el cheap one I put on is fine, but the Fields I had on my last airplane was incredibly quiet.

I am not sure why I couldn’t get them to respond. I will try them again.

I use the Knots2U/Aircraft Door seals (same company) version.  It mounts on the cabin door.  The key is keeping it lubricated with silicone grease.  I have tried the one that mounts on the airframe.  Stay away from it.  It will get screwed up the first time someone tries to slide into or out of the airplane.

The airframe type seal is what I have and is absolutely junk, seals good and all but gets torn really easy

I might consider doing a seal based on a grey soft duro in Grey
I also mfg the LX7 legacy and Lancair IV-4P inflatable seal
its the same as the Columbia 300-350-400
cessna TTX 
I mfg this seal for free tooling as Columbia sold me a 300 new in 2005 for 149k
Were still working on pma and will be able to sell oem tso seals as pma seals when this is complete.

Might I point out the incredible interest in a silicone money door seal several years ago. But Guy didn’t want to spend 300 bucks on tooling to make the damn thing and it all fell apart. $5000 of sales (40 buyers)  for lack of a $300 tooling die. I even spent 150$ to buy a factory door seal and cut 3” off of it and sent to him so he could make a die from that and he fucking ghosted me. So call me a contrarian but I did hang my ass out on the line for this project and it never came around. When I came down to the fact I was going to collect 40 buyers worth of cash send it to him and also sent him a factory door seal so he can copy and then pay for the tooling and then arrange shipment for all the shit you know some point to be easy if I just did it myself. But I don’t make door seals I do other things. Anyway do not waste your time on this fruitless endeavor. . I learned my lesson

The baggage door seal I removed from the old door and fit to the new one.  It actually prevents the door from closing flush with he fuselage, it's too thick.  It almost seems that a 1/2" x 1/4" square of super soft foam with ribs would do a better job.

This airplane prep pre-paint project has been taking over my life. Like 200 hours shop time with all the fixing stuff thats loose, rusty, or plain wrong. New baggage door from a later model witih the flush latch and emergency release handle. new 1/4" windshield. 5 or 6 lasar speed mods. removed lots of antennas and flush patched. removed th overhead ductwork and revised the vents to 05 chevy tahoe style rotary vents. Flush riveted them in. removed all antennas and prosealed under, had silicone before.  same with all 6 wing fuel tank access panels. dents. new ailerons, elevators. now i'm down to correcting to the stuff that was crappy when it left the factory in 1977.  Like the flush rivets thru fiberglass on the cowl where the cowl flap hinges are attached.  Carbon fiber reinforcement top cowl bridge mod. strip and rebuild the aft edge of the cowl where it meets the boot cowl, the camloc holes are worn out and egg-shaped.

Beware- I was a Bob Fields customer.  Love their seals!   Paid for my last one last year but never received the product.  Call after call after call...…..Sad to see a son do this to his fathers legacy.
