vorlon1
Silly question here: is it possible to clean the inside of the glass of my VSI? Mine is a bit foggy, and since I am going in for avionics next week, I'm thinking while the panel is open already...
orionflt
VSI is a sealed instrument, if you have fog in it the case seal has failed and would need to be sent out for repair. the case seal does not affect the operation of the VSI. Marauder
Yep, as Brian said. Remember the old technique of breaking the glass on the VSI as a way to address a clogged static port?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
hypertech
I had the same and had it addressed when I had my plane in for avionics too. I think it was $2-300 to have it overhauled.

carusoam
A local instrument shop is a great resource for this type of project... Removing the glass and resealing, or re-painting the instrument... They look brand new when finished... Best regards, -a-
