N231BN
Make sure the battery is charged? Do you have your Approved Flight Manual Supplement?
Marauder
Make sure the battery is charged? Do you have your Approved Flight Manual Supplement? Does the G5 have the annual battery capacity check? I know my L-3 ESI-500 has a requirement for annual testing.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
EricJ
What is it connected to? Mine's connected to an IFD540, and when the IFD boots it'll put the G5 in a known test configuration, e.g., bar halfway deviated, etc. Before you push Enter on the IFD, take a look at the G5 to make sure it is displaying the test config. When you push Enter it should change to whatever it should be doing. That's the only preflight check for it that I'm aware of.
bradp
It will fault if it detects an error in alignment and let you know. GMU will similarly fault if it doesn’t self calibrate Make sure your batteries have / hold / are charging when ships power is online. HSI check per whatever is driving it. Can check GPSS function of GAD when you check autopilot but I don’t find this a necessary “preflight” checklist item
