CHT Gauge

It is such a simple gauge... a thermo-couple on one end, a microvolt reader on the other...

Find the sensor, and track it’s wires back to the gauge...

The microvolts increase with temperature... so something is causing the gauge to sense more microvolts all of a sudden...

Somthing odd is going on with the system.  Unfortunately, the description of the challenge doesn’t give an obvious answer...

Look for missing insulation, or broken wires...

Swap the thermocouple with another one temporarily at least... to see if the rest of the system is working...

Keep in mind there are different types of thermocouples that will not read the same... but Mooneys typically use the same type of TC everywhere...(?)

PP thoughts only, not a mechanic...

Best regards,
