Electric Flaps

Recommended Posts

Welcome aboard Frank.

Electric flaps have...

Switches, limit switches, and motors... dirty contacts are probably the most common issue... aged and failed relays are an expensive issue... motors last forever...

There are a few threads regarding swapping out relays, use the search function to find more...

PP thoughts only...

Best regards,

Not all electric flaps were created equal. The electric flaps on later model Cs do not have limit switches and do not suffer limit switch gremlins.

The C has an ingenious screw jack which mechanically limits up/down travel and provides infinite flap positions.

I’m not sure why Mooney “improved” them.
