This valve is on the copilot side right behind the outside air vent tube.(forward) I'm guessing it may be a heater valve but not sure.... Can someone let me know? Thanks in advance. takair Posted November 19, 2018 Report Share Posted November 19, 2018 Cant quite tell what you are pointing out in the picture, but I suspect you are talking about the small lever that control air-flow to the avionics cooling plenum. You will have to trace out the duct and see where it goes. Some go to a diffuser and some are plumbed directly to the radios. I don’t remember which way the valve goes. Rain Water cooling of electronic devices went out of style in the last century when ordinary people started flying their own private GA planes. I think that is what was more subtly stated above... Either way, water is bad for electronics. The idea of being able to close the vent makes no physical sense... Picture telling ATC you are unable because your radio will over-heat because it’s raining outside, and I have shut down the cooling vent... carusoam Posted November 19, 2018 Report Share Posted November 19, 2018 Best to be known... Look/listen for an avionics cooling fan... Then remove any tubes that could deliver water to the radios...
